About John
John has led an interesting and varied working life. He started out as an apprentice electrician with a Melbourne based electrical contractor. Three and a half years after he attained his "A" Grade electrician's licence, John became self employed as an electrical contractor in his own right.
After selling that business, John became a salesman with a large fire protection company where he served for almost eight years. Subsequently, he returned to a more 'practical' orientation, and became the maintenance manager at the Knox City Shopping Centre.
The hours of work in the retail industry were not John's idea of an
enjoyable occupation or life-style, and he soon found his 'niché' by
returning once more to the work he knew best - the electrical industry. The
last 20 years of his 'formal' time in the work force was in the capacity of
an electrical installations inspector and Service Superintendent with the
Doncaster & Templestowe Electricity Supply Authority.
Throughout his life, John has been active in voluntary community work. He
served on Kindergarten and School Councils and held office as Committeeman,
Secretary and President. He was secretary of the professional association
'The Institute of Electrical Inspectors' for six years.
During all this time, John has had an avid interest in words - keenly
writing reports, news-letters, minutes of meetings and letters for each
organisation with which he was involved. He feels that with such varied
writing experience, he is well equipped to compose personal, warm
ceremonies, which reflect the unique personalities of his clients.
Consequently, John believes he has a lot to offer his clients, in creating and developing ceremonies of quality and meaning.
